Alyssa Enzor Baxley

Alyssa has been litigating divorces and child custody cases in Calhoun and Cleburne counties for nearly a decade. She is a Registered Family Law Mediator with the State of Alabama, and is a skilled negotiator. In addition to her private practice, she enforces child support for families as a Deputy Attorney General for Calhoun and Cleburne County DHR. She is passionate about protecting the children of divorcing families and safeguarding the financial security of her clients as they exit a marriage and begin rebuilding their lives.

When she’s not at work, Alyssa spends weekends with her husband chasing their two toddlers. She is very involved with local community development, serving on the boards of the Oxford Zoning Board of Adjustments, and the Anniston Police Foundation. She is advising attorney to the City of Oxford Civil Service Board. Alyssa and her family attend Oxford First Baptist Church.

Adam Maniscalco

A lifelong resident of Oxford, Alabama, and an Oxford High School alumnus, Adam graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama while majoring in Economics and Political Science. He earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a Presidential Scholar. While there, he practiced in the Elder Law Clinic, providing legal services to the elderly community, and clerked for both the District Attorney and Family Court of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties.

Adam is a Deputy Attorney General representing the State of Alabama in child support enforcement, and also serves as the Prosecutor for the City of Oxford. He serves on the Alabama Supreme Court Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well as the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Center of Concern, the Oxford Education Foundation, and the Historic Main Street Oxford Foundation. He attends Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Golden Springs.

Jennifer Argo

In her over 16 years as a licensed attorney, Jennifer has handled hundreds of  dependency, divorce, custody, criminal and juvenile delinquency cases. A graduate of Auburn University, Jennifer obtained her Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2005.  After previously practicing personal injury law, as well as serving as an Assistant District Attorney, Jennifer found her calling as a family law attorney in 2008.  Jennifer served as the Title IX Coordinator at Jacksonville State University, where she educated the JSU community about issues involving sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. After the 2020 regulations were passed, she worked tirelessly to write a compliant policy setting forth a revised process  for dealing with these types of allegations and coordinated the disciplinary process related these issues.

 Jennifer understands just how difficult it can be when the court system becomes involved in someone’s personal life.  Her clients aren't simply names on a case file, but actual people that she cares and fights for to the best of her ability.

Creative problem solving to keep divorce affordable

We understand that getting divorced is expensive and comes at a time when funds are typically tight. You’re transitioning from one household to two, and you may need more childcare than you have in the past. We always counsel our clients on ways to avoid long, drawn out litigation in favor of creative solutions.

1. Uncontested or
   roundtable divorce

If you and your spouse have the bones of an agreement, and just have a few small issues to hammer out, or even if you have a lot of issues unresolved, we can help facilitate an uncontested divorce. We use a variety of strategies to help bring divorcing couples to a final resolution that our clients can be happy with.

2. Collaborative divorce

This is a fairly new process that is being used very successfully in many divorce cases across the U.S. Collaborative divorce is a private process whereby you and your spouse participate in a series of negotiations with your attorneys (and sometimes other experts) on hand, and attempt to resolve child custody and division of assets between yourselves, without resorting to the trial process.

3. Mediation

Mediation is a confidential process between you and your attorney, your spouse and their attorney, and a neutral third party (the mediator). The goal of mediation is for the third party to help divorcing spouses reach common ground in order to facilitate a settlement. Mediation in Alabama is typically successful in approximately fifty percent of cases. Accordingly, it can be a very powerful tool to avoid the trial process and obtain a divorce fast, and relatively easily.
